Forming Akatsuki alongside his friends and fellow war orphans Yahiko and Konan , Nagato dreamed of bringing peace to the violent shinobi world. When he was very young, Madara Uchiha secretly transplanted his Rinnegan into Nagato without his or his parents' knowledge. One day, two Konoha shinobi broke into their home looking for food and Nagato and his parents tried to sneak out unnoticed. When they were discovered, his parents attacked the shinobi so that Nagato could escape. The Konoha ninja killed his parents in self-defence and, upon realising they were only civilians, tried apologising to Nagato. Overcome with grief, Nagato used Madara's Rinnegan for the first time to kill them and avenge his parents. After burying his parents, Nagato, now an orphan, was forced to leave home and begin wandering in search of food and shelter. With resources scarce due to the ongoing war, no one he met would help him until Nagato, who had collapsed from hunger, was found by Konan and Yahiko , orphans like himself. They banded together, acquired food to survive through any means, and shared dreams of a future where they were in charge and could use their power to eliminate war. Yahiko was particularly passionate about this point, which inspired Nagato to adopt the same goal.

Humble beginnings
Even by Naruto's complex standards, the story of Nagato, the shinobi who later becomes known as Pain, is complicated. Remember, this is a series that revolves around a plot to cast the entire world into an eternal dream state utilizing a statue pulled down from the moon. Even against that wild backdrop, Pain's path is a twisted one. He is an orphan, a recluse, a god to some, at least , a criminal, and a pacifist. His ideals are entwined with violence, and his death is hardly the end of his story. But for Naruto fans, Pain's circuitous story is a feature, not a bug.

Nagato Uzumaki atau lebih dikenal Nagato , adalah seorang ninja dari desa Amegakure yg mempunyai mata dewa. Mata yang sama dengan pencipta dunia shinobi Rikudo Sennin, yaitu Rinnegan. Nagato memiliki Rinnegan dan dapat mengendalikan ke-6 Pain menggunakan besi hitam yg ditancapkan ditubuh 6 Pain. Lalu wadah Pain Gakido merupakan mayat ninja Kusagakure. Wadah Pain Ningendo merupakan mayat ninja Takigakure. Kemudian wadah Pain Chikushodo ada 2, yg pertama adalah mayat ninja klan Fuuma dan yg kedua adalah mayat Ajisai, kunoichi Amegakure. Sementara wadah Pain Shurado dan Pain Jigokudo adalah seorang petani. Nagato adalah seorang shinobi yg kuat. Dia sering mempelajari Ninjutsu yg merupakan hobinya sejak kecil.
Nagato appears as the acting leader of the Akatsuki who wish to capture the tailed beasts sealed into various shinobi around the shinobi world. After he works behind the scenes and seals most of the beasts within a statue, Nagato's superior gives him the mission to capture the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed inside the series' protagonist , Naruto Uzumaki. Before leaving to capture Naruto, Nagato engages in a mortal battle with his former mentor, Jiraiya. His past as a child who lost his parents and best friend during war is explored. Due to his traumatic experiences related to the conflicts from the ninja village, Nagato aims to create a new world that does not have to suffer from the chaos of wars. Nagato also appears in the series' video games , reprising his role from Naruto. Nagato was conceived by Kishimoto as a villain, a victim of war, who would show Naruto the impact of world wars, something Kishimoto aimed to explore throughout the series. All of them were given an elaborated design with multiple piercings across their bodies to reinforce the idea that despite his calm demeanor, Nagato is a dangerous person. Several voice actors have voiced Nagato and the Six Paths of Pain in both the English and the Japanese animated adaptations of the series. Critical response to Nagato's character has been generally positive because of the chaos he creates throughout the story, including the murder of Jiraiya and the destruction of an entire village while chasing Naruto.
